Summary: The fourth edition is a complete revision of the third editiion in order to incluide recent progress in gamete ultrastucture and transport, cytogenetics and biochemistry of reproduction, and sexual behavior. ther have been numerous deletions from the third edtition, as well as integration of new references and moderns concepts. Several new chapters have been added dealing with functional histology of reproduction, seminal plasma, foliculogenesis, egg maturation , ovulation, and estrus syncronization.
