En México, durante esta última década, se ha creado un gran número de empresas dedicadas al cultivo de hongos comestibles. Sin embargo, estudios sobre el aspecto tecnoeconómico del cultivo de hongos comestibles en México son muy escasos, por lo que el presente trabajo se elaboró tratando de llenar el vacío que existe en cuanto a este tipo de información. La compilación de la información se hizo empleando la técnica de la entrevista; las entrevistas tenían como característica principal, el conocer todos aquellos aspectos tecnológicos de manera directa y algunos aspectos económicos de manera indirecta. Se realizaron 15 entrevistas en diferentes estados del país. La información compilada fue sistematizada y analizada. En México la producción de hongos, en general, está controlada por los productores de champiñón (Agaricus bisporus ;Lange; Sing), y dentro del cultivo de este hongo, su control esta dado por 6 grandes empresas. Mientras que para el caso de la seta Pleurotus spp. la producción es realizada por micro y pequeños productores. Entre los pequeños y grandes productores de champiñón existe una enorme brecha tecnológica, Sin embargo, en el cultivo de la seta Pleurotus spp. las diferencias son poco significativas entre los micro, pequeños y algunos medianos productores. Para la mayoría de éstos, el aspecto económico es el que tiene mayor influencia sobre su nivel tecnológico. --

In Mexico, during this last decade, a large number of enterprises dedicated to cultivating edible mushrooms have been created. However, studies on the tecnoeconomic aspect of edible mushroom autvation in Mexioo are very scarce. This study was done in an attempt to fill this gap in the infornation. Intormation was oollected through interviews. The interviews main characteristic was to find out about the technological aspects in a direct way and about some economic aspects indirectly It is to acoomolished interviews in different state of the country. The information collected was systenized and analyzed in Mexico, mushroom production is, in general, controlled by the growers of the species Agaricus bIsporus (Lang) Sing. Among these, control is exercised by six large companies. On the other hand, for the case of the species Pleurotus spp., production is accomplished for small-scale growers. There is a large technological gap between the small and large growers of Agancus bisporus, whiie among the very small, smal and some medium-scale growers of Pleurotus sp. the differences are not signficat For most of these producers, the economic aspect is that which has major influence in the ievel of technology.
