La economía estudia eventos o escenarios donde se presentan fenómenos numéricos cuantificables. Por lo que realizar un análisis económico nos permite conocer y estudiar con detalle los parámetros cuantificables de esta situación. Los granos de cereal son parte esencial de la razón y existencia de culturas milenarias, formando parte de la dieta alimenticia humana desde tiempos inmemorables; por lo que la producción en ciertos países es esencial para su alimentación y desarrollo. Las importaciones son entonces la falta de capacidad de territorial, financiera, de creación e implementación de planes de desarrollo para solventar la demanda; en donde se recurre a un proveedor que pueda abastecer dicha necesidad. El presente estudio se realizó con la finalidad de revisar y conocer los motivos y necesidades que han orillado a México a recurrir a las importaciones de maíz, trigo, arroz y cebada, apoyándose en un análisis económico de todas las variables que intervienen en la importación de estos granos; al mismo tiempo estudiando y aplicando un modelo de planeación estratégica para esta situación. Se concluye que México cuenta con las características físicas necesarias para la siembra y cosecha de maíz, trigo, arroz y cebada, lo que sin embargo no es suficiente para abastecer una demanda creciente, debido a los bajos rendimientos en campo, altos precios de venta y bajos subsidios a la producción primaria, lo que hace difícil la competencia con granos de cereal de las grandes potencias mundiales productoras.

The economy studies events or scenes where cuantificables numerical phenomena appear. Reason why to make an economic analysis allows us to know and to study with detail the cuantificables parameters of this situation. The cereal grains are essential part of the reason and existence of millenarian cultures, comprising in the human nutritional diet since inmemorables times; reason why the production in certain countries is essential for its feeding and development. The imports are then the lack of territorial, financial capacity of, of creation and implementation of plans of development to resolve the demand; in where one resorts to a supplier that can supply this necessity. The present study was made with the purpose of studying and of knowing the reasons and necessities that have bordered Mexico to resort to the imports of corn, wheat, rice and barley, leaning in an economic analysis of all the variables that take part in the import of these grains; at the same time studying and applying a model of strategic planning for this sistuación. Which concludes that Mexico counts with the necessary physical characteristics for seedtime and harvest of corn, wheat, rice and barley, nevertheless is not sufficient to supply an increasing demand, due to the low yields in field, hight sale prices and low subsidies to the primary production, which makes difficult competition with grains of cereal of the great producing world-wide powers.
