Licenciatura Summary: his study determine the influence of extern factors (transversal slope and type of material) which affect the efficiency of CAT-D5B crawler tractor according to Monreal approach (1991), in order to find the mean efficiency (meters/hour) and obtain basis to planning and controlling on forest road construction. There were related efficiency for analysis of variance as dependent variable with the factors transversal slope and type of materials as independent variables. The results were as follow: the dependent variable was explained in a 72% by the independent variables. Tukey test shows that with alpha=0.05, exist a significant difference between treatment one and the rest of treatments. Contrast test shows that exist significative difference on the efficiency when changes in slope and type of materials occurred in accord to an alpha=0.05. Starting from these results, a previous planning to improve the efficiency and reducing costs of road construction, is proposed.
