<recordIdentifier>IA_parameters were the kernel components required by the industry of nixtamalization, in addition to determination of lysine and tryptophan analyses in the endosperm. The effect of the growing season was the main source of variation in lysine, quality index, protein, and floating index. The effect of location was the main source of variation for the rest of parameters. The genotype effect influenced mainly weight of 100 kernels, tryptophan and pericarp. Interactions among other factors exhibited a significant statistical difference (?=0.01) in hectoliter weight, weight of 100 kernels, floating index, pericarp, protein, lysine, tryptophan and quality index; the interaction locality * genotype showed a significant statistical difference (?=0.01) in kernel color and pedicel and at ?=0.05 in white and hard endosperm. Genotypes evaluated showed percentage of pedicel, white and hard endosperm, similar to common maize genotypes, furthermore, they contained 40 % more lysine and 90 % more tryptophan.</recordIdentifier>
