La presente investigación emanó de la inquietud del autor por conocer más acerca del Chipilín (Crotalaria longirostrata), planta de importancia cultural y gastronómica en el Sur de México. Tras efectuarse las primeras búsquedas en el buscador Google se observó la escasa información de acceso libre disponible de Crotalaria longirostrata, los resultados apuntaron hacia el uso gastronómico con datos interesantes e incompletos acerca de los componentes químicos y antioxidantes de esta planta leguminosa. Esto marcó la pauta para realizar una búsqueda de información científica en las revistas de mayor impacto en los principales buscadores de información científica a nivel mundial. Como herramienta de trabajo se empleó el buscador de información científica Scopus® de donde se extrajeron las referencias bibliográficas de los documentos de trabajo (artículos, revistas, libros, manuales, memorias de congreso, etc.). La base de datos de la información obtenida se sometió a un análisis bibliométrico en los softwares de Vosviewer versión 1.6.14 y R-tool for Bibliometrix 3.0: BIBLIOSHINY con los indicadores bibliométricos de “co-authorship”, “cooccurrence”, “producción científica anual” etc. Los indicadores fueron definidos con base en el planteamiento de algunas preguntas que guiaron el proceso de investigación. El objetivo de realizar este trabajo fue identificar las áreas del conocimiento en donde se han generado más publicaciones científicas en torno al cultivo de Chipilín y con base en ello establecer nuevos proyectos de investigación. Por otro lado, con la aplicación de los indicadores bibliométricos se reafirmó que la información científica de Crotalaria longirostrata es escasa, ya que de 1991 a 2021 se han publicado únicamente 26 documentos científicos. This research resulted from the author's interest in learning more about the Chipilín (Crotalaria longirostrata), a plant of cultural and gastronomic importance in southern Mexico. After the first searches in the Google search engine, the scarce free access information available on Crotalaria longirostrata was observed, the results pointed towards the gastronomic use with interesting and incomplete data about the chemical and antioxidant components of this leguminous plant. This set the tone for a search for scientific information in the journals with the highest impact in the main search engines for scientific information worldwide. The scientific information search engine Scopus® was used as a working instrument, from which the bibliographic references of the working documents (articles, journals, books, manuals, conference proceedings, etc.) were extracted. The database of the information obtained was subjected to a bibliometric analysis in the software Vosviewer version 1.6.14 and R-tool for Bibliometrix 3.0: BIBLIOSHINY with the bibliometric indicators of "co-authorship", "co-occurrence", "annual scientific production", etc. The indicators were defined based on some questions that guided the research process. The objective of this work was to identify the areas of knowledge in which more scientific publications have been generated on the cultivation of Chipilín and, based on this, to establish new research projects.
